Just thought I’d express my thanks to all of you for participating in, once again, elevating Foster City Blog into the Varbuzz National Championship. It was all REALLY fun for me and I sincerely hope you enjoyed it a little bit too. I need to especially thank my good friend and assisitant Lydia for all of her hard work in getting out the vote too. None of this could have happened without her…and actually the blog itself wouldn’t have happened without her. Anyway, thanks again!

It’s an auspicious week! The 50th week of the Funky Foto Contest! Plus the big announcement of the winner of the Varbuzz Blog Brawl all on the same day! I think celebrating is in order no matter the outcome. Today’s pic of this cutesy, quaint looking little lane presents the question…where is this? There’s really two answers here but because I’m in such a good mood I’m willing to accept either one of them. This weeks winner will receive a $30.00 gift card to Chipotle over at Marlin Cove. Sweet 16 Voting Booth

There’s probably a few of you out there who were around Foster City Blog this time last year and remember the Varbuzz “Blog Brawl”. It’s a competition put on by the Virginia Association of Realtors to see who has the top blog in the US. It’s a tournament type contest alot like the NCAA College Basketball event, except that voting takes place to eventually pick a winner. It begins with 32 contestants and whittles it’s way down to the Top Dog.

Last year Foster City Blog won the whole thing! We’re the defending National Champion! That’s what that little patch is for on the left hand margin.

Voting began yesterday to see who’s crowned the 2009 champion…will you please help us keep Foster City on the National Map? Just click the link below and have at it! We’re the #5 seed in Zone 1. You need to vote in each pairing in each zone for it to count…you’ll vote 16 times this week. There’s a link to each contestant so you can get a feel for who you’re voting for. OK, here it is. Today’s strange and wonderful foto. For the uninitiated, every Friday we have a contest where you need to identify the object in a featured photo of some obscure Foster City landmark or oddity. Today’s winner gets a $30.00 gift certificate for lunch or dinner at ABC Seafood located at the Metro Center Shopping area.
