Highs and Lows…Houses

I thought it would be sort of fun to look at some 2008 milestone winners for single family homes in Foster City and offer small commentary along with them. Nothing wrong with any of these houses, but it’s kind of interesting to note some facts about them. Here we go!

MOST EXPENSIVE HOUSE:

matsonia

763 Matsonia What a great house this is! Stunning and on a huge waterfront lot too! It sold for $1,645,000

HIGHEST PRICE PER SQUARE FEET:

greenwich1

642 Greenwich Another really fabulous waterfront! It came in at $729.00 per square feet. Matsonia came in at $549.00.

LOWEST PRICED HOUSE:

beach-park2

1659 BeachPark Actually a very nice house…and one that sold in November. That lead to a price of $825,000

LOWEST PRICE PER SQUARE FOOT:

beach-park3

1859 BeachPark What is it about Beach Park? This place sold for only $384.00 a square foot. The other Beach Park, while smaller, went for $436.00

LONGEST ON THE MARKET:

897lurline

897 Lurline In all fairness, this house had some pretty extraordinary circumstances. It clocked in at 337 Days on Market. Here could be one reason why: http://cbs5.com/local/Foster.City.police.2.440096.html

GREATEST OVERBID:

nottingham

510 Nottingham Great house, great neighborhood and it went $53,000 over asking. Oddly, 2 other houses went $52,000 over asking as well.

GREATEST AMOUNT UNDER ORIGINAL LIST PRICE:

windjammer

1024 Windjammer It’s possible this house started too high to begin with, but it closed $238,000 less than it began.

Like I said, kind of interesting, huh? With all of this information and $3.50 you can buy a latte at Starbucks. Still, it’s fun to look at.

P.S. The Funky Foto Contest returns tomorrow!
