Funky Foto Contest Week 9

Yes, it is in Foster City and, No, it’s not a new version of Junipero Serra pointing to the right trail. (Bad joke, sorry). For today’s contest I need to know what exactly this is as well as specifically where it is in town. This week’s winner will receive a $30.00 gift certificate to My Big Fat Greek Restaurant in the Edgewater Place shopping center. This place has only been around for a couple of months and when I went in there I sort of fell in love with these people. Really nice folks, really cute restaurant that has waterfront seating and good food! They’re so new that they didn’t know that they were supposed to have gift certificates for customers…they had to make one up, which I picked up last night. It’s fun to support them…I remember what it was like starting a new business! Anyway, the rules of the road are on the left hand margin as well as above. Enter your answer in the comments below. I’ll post all the correct answers and the winner on Monday. In the meantime, feel free to make some snide remarks, engage in some silly banter and just take a wild shot in the dark about this picture. Most likely all of that will get published right away. Have fun and good luck!

  1. Jack Foster Statue in front of City Council Building

  2. Who holds a cigar like that? The flame end is in the palm! Is it a statue of George W Bush?

  3. I noticed that too! Pretty funny about W…but no W statues in FC that I know of.

  4. My brother used to smoke cigarettes like that growing up, he ended up with this strange calous in his palm as a result. Why does anybody want to smoke at all? I don’t get it.

  6. Is it the hand of Jack Foster statue in front of the City Hall?

Statue of T. Jack Foster outside City Hall?

C’mon Jim, let’s get seriously tough! That’s the forever-etched-in-stone Cigar addiction that the City’s founding father, T. Jack Foster, carries in perpetuity on his statue that resides to the entrance of City Hall, 610 Foster City Blvd., and which I have the pleasure of seeing from my office window on the 2nd floor. I’m always amazed at the number of people that check out that statue, point to the cigar, and say “what’s that all about?!?” I’m recused from winning if I’m first … since it resides on City property! 🙂 Steve

  9. SteveTinFC says:

Hey, at least whoever that is isn’t littering a bunch of cigar ash all over the place. Hope he or she disposes of that cigar butt properly when he/she is done!

  10. Hey, I’m not entirely sure I approve of the use of the word “butt” on a family blog…but since it’s coming from an obvious expert on the subject I’ll let it slide this time.

It’s Jack Foster in front of City Hall

  13. SteveTinFC says:

Hey, I think I take offense to that remark!

  14. I actually resemble that remark too…so I know of which I speak.

  15. Hi Jim,

The picture is a close up of the statue of T. Jack Foster out in front of City Hall.

    Thanks.

  16. Way to go guys!
